Whatever you do, do not compare Onika to Lady Gaga. Nicki Minaj is hot on her promo trail after releasing her sophomore album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” last Tuesday. I believe it has sold about 119k so far but I do not think the final weekly numbers are in yet. Not quite as good as her debut album but still good… For a horrible album that is.

Onika discussed why it bothers her when people compare her to Lady Gaga. She also touches on growing up with her father being a drug addict and fearing for her mother’s life. Then she discusses being a mom in the industry. Interview after the jump.

You know, something about “established” artists going on American Idol, a singing competition show, and not performing 100% live that really grinds my gears. Nicki Minaj “performed” her latest single “Starships” last night and hey, it was pretty awful.

So sometimes children may not know what I’m saying, but they like the sound of it, and they think I sound like some weird character.”

Nicki Minaj Performs At The NBA All Star Game

The NBA All Star Game was tonight… Don’t know who won. Can’t say I care. However, Nicki Minaj performed during the intro. It was a nice medley. Well with the exception of her trying to sing live. I guess I’ll give her credit for actually performing live?

She opened with “Moment 4 Life” followed by “Turn Me On“. Then she came back out after the West Coast team was introduced and performed “Starships“. Yes, she really did. After the East Coast team came out she performed “Superbass“. Check out the performance after the jump.
